I am making a waged with myself in February as a productivity experiment.
I’ve thought about this idea for a while, I think it was a Seth Godin post but possible someone else, to use the fact that people will try harder not to lose money than to gain more money.
So in February, I am wagering £100 that I can add 50,000 words to one of my blogs. A big ask and a bigger word count than I’ve ever managed before. But if I lose? My wife gets the money and is buying a new handbag, there are few things I can think of as being more of a waste of money than an expensive handbag. Except donating to something I don’t believe in but the logistics of this are easier.
The wager is on, when next months budget rolls around the money will be getting withdrawn and put in an envelope.
Wish me luck.
