You know you need to do it, you know when you haven’t done it, and yet before the habit is properly formed drinking 2 litres of water a day is difficult. Which seems mad because your body needs it and knows you need it yet your brain can step in and say not right now, get some later.
I’m very aware of this, I’m aware of how much better I feel when I’m hydrated and yet at the start of this week I fell out the habit and I’ve had trouble jumping back on the train. But it ends today, a half litre glass before 9, another before 12 and one more with lunch, then one last glass through the night before bed.
Telling yourself exactly when you’re going to do it makes it so much easier to actually do, it gives you points to check in at to see if you’re on track and once you’ve told yourself that’s when it’s happening a part of you will remember.
It’s just drinking water, you know you have to do it, so plan when it’s going to get done.
