I was watching the salt lamp in my bedroom turn itself off last night with the timer we have it plugged into marvelling at how such a simple thing can make my life so much better.
It’s set to come on in the morning during weekdays when the alarm goes off while it’s dark outside which makes getting up so much easier. Likewise, it’s set to turn on while I’m coming to bed so the room is lit and welcoming and then it turns off at 10.30 so I know it’s time to go to bed.
It’s such a small change but when it was unplugged one morning getting up in the dark was so much more challenging, and I’m pretty sure I’d be much more likely to read all night if I didn’t have a visual cue telling me it’s probably time to go to sleep soon.
There are a lot of ways to make your life a happier one but one of the most effective is to get rid of negatives, it has a much bigger effect than adding another positive to something that was fine as is. And once you start looking for them, you’ll find a lot of them are far easier to fix than you’d think.
