This is one of Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules For Life, to aim for better, to aim to make today better than yesterday and head towards a place that is better than right now. Not in a hedonistic way but a much smaller simpler way.
For instance, if you have a big stack of paperwork on your desk that you’ve been avoiding it is likely causing you some negativity. You look at it and feel guilty for ignoring it right? By forcing yourself to work through it for 10 minutes you’ll make the pile smaller, maybe even get rid of the pile all together and suddenly you’re left in a better place than you were before.
If you keep doing this day in and day out it will compound over time and you’ll keep moving towards a place that you want to be in.
It’s an idea I got a lot from and a book I definitely recommend reading.
